St Petes Star Wins Canada Day Pace at Summerside DebutSummerside, PE – St Petes Star battled with San Marco Hanover to the opening quarter and had to hold off Pans O Silver in the stretch to win the Canada Day pace is 1:56 flat during the opening card of the season at the Summerside Raceway. Darren Crowe did the driving for trainer Danny Romo and owner Paul Grey, Halifax. A big crowd on hand to witness the Summerside debut at the new grandstand and barn area. Pans O Silver, with Brian MacPhee, and San Marco Hanover, with Ryan Ellis, completed the triactor in the first feature event of the season.Gary Chappell had a big day in the race bike. The veteran driver had four winners on the day while Jason Hughes and Brian MacPhee had driving doubles. MacPhee is now only two wins away from career win 1500 in the bike. He could reach the milestone tomorrow night at Charlottetown. Racing returns to the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre Thursday night at 7pm. courtesy of HRPEI
